Day 03: Big Day in the City!

Again, Rise and shine! it’s 4:00 am.. So hard to wake up! but the minute your take the decision then you are just moments away of an amazing early morning prayer time with the Lord. Kim and I woke up to prepare for this morning’s a sermon, where i have shared a message on : “God had a personal promised land to you!” And i surely want to thank Jesus for His anointing over this sermon, as many people where blessed and took changing decisions into their lives.

Afterwards, Chung Mooksanim invited for breakfast before we headed to the Capital Seoul. For the fun of it, Chung Mooksanim, his wife, Kim, his aunt and her husband where all deliberating to see what they should get me for breakfast! And as a final decision they managed to find a 24/24 Burger King alike shop to buy me one BURGER at 7:00 am in the morning, which we took away and went to a typical korean restaurant so they could have their usual breakfast ‘RICE SOUPE’ and OCTOPUS! yep, as i discovered Rice is just like Bread to us.

To an extent that this verse: “And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life…” (John 6:35) is translated to “And Jesus said unto them, I am the RICE of life…” in the Korean Bible! Can you imagine the importance of Rice now?!!!

KTX StationNow that the breakfast is done, we head back home to pack, have some rest and then take the KTX (Korean Train X-press), that rolls on a 300km/hour, to reach the capital Seoul. After wandering for a while in the city, we took the bus to reach our hosts home who greet us with warmness.

Today was a bit exhausting, therefore i should leave you for now with that short story so i could get some rest, as tomorrow we start again at 5:00 am.

Good night everyone!

Mission to South Korea – Day 02

Silouam ChurchRise and shine everyone! it’s 4:00 am and South Korea is awake for their early morning prayer. Here at Iksan City everything is calm. As Kim and I arrive to the church, Chung Mooksanim (Pastor Chung) awaits for the congregation’s arrival while praying, kneeling down behind the puplit. At 5:00 am sharp, the meeting starts and Kim shares a powerful message on how we should have the “Logos” and “Rhema” in order to overcome satan’s attacks.

The pastors and IWhen the meeting’s finished, Chung Mooksanim invited us to visit ‘Tshundo‘ an Island way far to the south of South Korea (a 2h30mins drive). ‘Tshundo‘ is called ‘Paradise Island‘ because 90% (1,800 citizen) are born again believers.  Due to the efforts of a female Evangelist ‘Moon Jung Yung’ who worked without resting to spread the word of God and evangelize people in this Island. Moon was born in 1891 and died as a martyr for the Lord in 1950. She was killed due to the communism conflictat that period. Evangelist Moon, used to change her shoes 9 times / year – Not because they became old fashioned, but because they’ve become non wearable due to the distances she used to walk while evanglizing. This woman managed to plant 100 churches in 14 islands during her 18 years of service. The massive Christian Inflation is still booming because of this woman’s love for Christ.

SEA FOOD!!!!While heading back to Iksan City, we stopped by to have lunch; and of course it’s again my time to pray so I could find food that suites my stomach. I looked at the menu that included all kind of sea food (Fish, octopus, etc…) and only one kind of escaloppe. WOW! “Pork Escaloppe“. So I decided to have it rather than anything else. And to my astonishement, it was delicious!

It’s already 5:00 pm, and the service where I’m sharing my testimony approaches. So I create my introductory Korean powerpoint presentation. Grab a Vegeterian Pizza and go straight to the meeting place. The congregation and I sang “ya sayyidi lamma ara noujoumak” and then I started to share the message, and for 50 minutes people where mesmerized. By the of the message, all I could hear was: ‘Halleluja’ and ‘Gamssa Hamnida'(Thank you). Chung Mooksanim was encouraged and blessedthat he asked us to lead the early morning prayer message tomorrow!

Therefore, if you’ll excuse me, I have a lot of praying to do… God is working…

Servant of Jesus,

Mission to South Korea – Day 01

Tuesday 29 May 2012

Ali Khalil

After a long 14 hours flight, the plane finally landed in Ichen Airport – Seoul. The travel was exhausting yet that period of time helped me have a closer prayer time with God.

Ichen Airport - Seoul

As soon as the plane landed, Mr. Kim – my host- informed me that he needed at least one hour to reach the airport. So I waited in the lobby praying and contemplating the new culture of South Korea. All that time the Holy Spirit was equipping me.

Finally, Kim arrives and I have my first Korean / Japanese meal.. Since I don’t know what is it’s name I took a picture of it:

Korean / Japanese Food

Some kind of mixed vegetables with raw fish inside of it and a spicy sauce. Of course I swapped food with Kim to eat some meat instead of it 😀

Nevertheless, we ate rapidly and quickly took the express limousine bus for another 4 hours trip into a village called Iksan. Chung MooksaNim (Pastor Chung) was waiting for us and greeted us great hospitality and care. Chung Mooksanim took us to Cho TshangnoNim (Elder Cho)‘s house where we had a wonderful family dinner together. Let me tell you, that humblness is one great virtue that inspired me the minute a stepped foot into the airport and went all the way to see it furthermore.

People where so eager to know about Lebanon and my testimony that as soon as we finished eating questions starting popping out. Poor Kim! He had to translate two hours of sharing stories.

Later that evening, Kim and I decided to go for a walk, visit the church and pray for tomorrow’s first meeting.

Silouam Church - Iksan City

But what grabbed my attention the most!! was seeing one Elder cleaning the church’s windows at 10:00 pm and preparing the second days’ 4:00 am meeting in prayers along his wife.

Finally, Kim and I prayed and asked for the power of the Holy Spirit to be among us.

Now, I have to sleep – Tomorrow is a big day starting 4:00 am

Servant of Jesus,

PS: Keep us in your prayers, as God opens new doors for his people to communicate and share His Mighty word. I miss each and everyone of you: My wife, my parents, my pastor, Spartans, and the whole church!
